In this course, freshmen will learn the principles of design, and the basics of Adobe Photoshop. Projects will include things like photo restoration, working with layers, creating original artwork and more.
This course will explore the use of digital programs currently used in the graphics and design industry (Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign) to make, create, edit and manipulate typography, photos, animations, and various works of digital art. Students will also learn how to integrate basic elements and principles of design in conjunction with necessary tools and techniques of the computer programs to create art that is original, creative, and communicative of its intended message.
This class expands the concepts and skills learned in Graphic Arts I by offering the students the chance to work in teams, work with real world clients and work at determining the appropriate themes, target market and concepts for their projects. A deeper understanding of the Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign software and techniques will be implemented. Students will also create professional work for the school including, yearbook logos, billboards, postcards, t-shirts and more.
