Hello DATA Families!
Welcome to the start of the 23-24 school year! It’s already time to prepare for another wonderful year at DATA. We are honored you chose to be part of our community and look forward to learning and growing with you this year.
We are committed to the success of each and every DATA student, but know we can’t do it alone. We need the support and participation of our parents, families and students. When we work together we create a comprehensive educational experience that enriches the academic and social-emotional growth of each student. Here is some helpful information to help you prepare for the upcoming school year.
Registration
A separate email with registration information will be sent out this week (new families will receive different information than those returning). Keep an eye out for this email.

School Supply List
Our general school supply list is here: DATA SCHOOL SUPPLY LIST 2023.docx
Drop off/Pick up Procedures
- The school building is accessible to students beginning at 7:40 am. If you drop students off before this, they will be asked to wait outside the building until 7:40 am. All students should be dropped off at the front of the school.
- Pick-up for grades 7-9 occurs at the BACK (North) side of the building. You can access this area by going straight along the east side of the building.
- Pick-up for grades 10-12 occurs at the front of the building.
- Gates are opened at 3:05 pm on M/Tu/Th/Fri and 11:45 am on Wednesdays.
- If you have students in multiple grades, simply coordinate one pick-up location. Please limit speed and be mindful of pedestrians and vehicles.
- We will have staff outside for the first few weeks to assist families during after-school pick-up.
Late Arrival/Early Dismissal
Students arriving late need to sign in and obtain a tardy pass from the front desk. ALL students who need to leave early MUST have parent permission, regardless of age. Parents picking up their child early must come inside the building to sign out their child and present identification to the front staff. Students who drive themselves need to have parent permission to leave early, even if they are 18 years old. Parents of student drivers/18+ students, please email attendance@datacharter.org to give permission for your child to leave school early. More detailed information, including information on student parking passes, is in the student handbook on our website.
Lunch
- We will continue to contract through Rhubarb and Elliot for lunch. You may create an account with Rhubarb and Elliot, and order/pay for lunches here: https://www.rhubarbandelliott.com/data
- Only CLASSIFIED Seniors (18 credits or more) are allowed to leave campus at lunch. We will be checking senior schedules during lunch. Schedules must have a senior status/designation (“grade 12”) on their schedule in order to leave.
- To increase safety by limiting the number of people in and out of our building, students are not allowed to order food from delivery services such as DoorDash or Grubhub. Any food delivered during this time will be kept at the front office until dismissal. Most students bring lunch from home, or order from Rhubarb and Elliot. We have microwaves and filtered water dispensers around campus for student convenience.
Dress and Appearance
Students at DATA are encouraged to express themselves through what they wear. However, they are also expected to show respect for others in what they wear and avoid unreasonable distractions to others based on their clothing. No clothing that is offensive or promotes sex, alcohol, violence, drugs, prejudice, hate speech or uses profane language will be allowed at school. The school administration reserves the right to determine if a student’s clothing violates this policy. Students whose appearance is determined to be in violation of this policy will be asked to change or, if available, given clothing to wear for the remainder of the day. Repeated offenses will result in a parent meeting with administration to determine consequences and future support.
